My First Blog

Hello, blog world. I actually started this blog almost a year ago, but never got around to posting anything. In true procrastination form, I waited, thought about it, wondered what I would blog about, who would want to read it, when I would have time to do it…blah blah blah.

Last week, I got a bit of a kick in the pants with the death of Steve Jobs. One of his famous quotes was stuck in my head . . .

Now, I don’t hate my job by any means, but I wouldn’t say that I love it either. You know, it’s not as if I was a little girl dreaming that one day I would be marketing annuities and mutual funds. But, even though it’s not my passion, it helps put food on the table and pay the bills to support my family. And I love them, so that counts, right?

This got me to thinking about the blog and that it doesn’t matter if no one else is interested in it. It is for me and is something that I will enjoy doing. I used to be an avid journal writer, but like so many other things, that got bumped out of my daily routine to make room for my wifely and motherly duties. This is my way of bringing it back. Without all of the embarrassing secrets, of course.

I don’t know how often I’ll post things, but my goal is to write about anything that makes me happy—whether it be a new delicious treat I just tried, a product that makes my life easier, or the TV shows that take up way too much of my time. If you’re looking for gravitas, I assure you, you won’t find it here. But, if you want to share in the little things that make me happy, then come join me here at Happy Spot.

  1. Good for you! Starting a blog has been on my bucket list for a while, but I have the same inhibitions: what will I write and would it be interesting enough for people to read? I should learn to toss those inhibitions out the window as you've done.

    Looking forward to happy posts!

  2. You should do it! I love looking at your crafty creations and you always have interesting things to say. I, for one, would certainly read it.
